Ketosis

With a chicken breast and broccoli diet, you will more than likely start feeling symptoms of ketosis after 2-3 days. I experienced general lethargy, head fogginess, and the occasional balance check. Ketosis occurs when your body has depleted all the glycogen from your muscles and instead of breaking down glycogen to supply sugars to your brain, your liver begins breaking down fatty acids to supply ketones to your brain. Although these symptoms may alarm you at first, this is a natural reaction your body has to compensate for the loss in a more immediate energy source. From my dieting experience, these symptoms lasted 1-2 days after entering into ketosis and would come back intermittently.

Once you’ve completed your diet and begin adding more carbohydrates into your meals (I would recommend a 40/45/15 ratio for your protein/carb/fat), over the course of the next 3-4 days, your muscles will begin to swell slightly as they fill with glycogen, you will become stronger and you will feel more energetic.
